. . . Schapelle’s life is on the line. Copy them, and put your direct replies beneath each one . . . (numbered questions, grouped in 11 titled sections) # Section one, Justice? Question 1 “Ten Islamic militants convicted over deadly bombings that targeted tourists in Bali have had their jail sentences cut. Six of those were found guilty of the 2002 nightclub bombings that killed 202 people, including 28 Britons and 88 Australians. The other four were convicted in connection with suicide attacks on restaurants in 2005 that left 20 people dead. Families of the victims have expressed anger at the decision which was made to mark Indonesia's Independence Day. It is a local tradition to cut prison terms on holidays - but the father of one of the dead slammed the "blatant disregard" for those caught up in the attacks. The militants were serving between eight and 18 years on a variety of charges. They include helping to plan the bombings, sheltering the main suspects and setting up a website explaining how to kill foreigners.” Sky News, Aug 17 2007 Kev, how do you compare 8 to 18 years for helping to murder 88 Australians, to twenty years for allegedly smuggling 4.2 kg of marijuana? Question 2 Kev, during Schapelle’s trial, did her lawyer do some research, and find that even in an Indonesian case involving the smuggling of 161 kg of marijuana (157 kg MORE than Schapelle was alleged to have smuggled), the guilty party was only given a 10 year sentence (page 178 of Tony Wilson’s book)? Question 3 Kev, WITHOUT fingerprint evidence, DNA evidence, country of origin evidence (re the marijuana), security camera evidence, check-in staff evidence, weight discrepancy evidence, no evidence whatsoever linking Schapelle Corby (or her family), to the drug trade, no apparent motive (e.g. the marijuana was worth far less in Bali, than it was in Queensland), plus major evidence of extremely serious security breaches/criminal activity (by staff), at Sydney and Brisbane airports, ON THE VERY DAY SCHAPELLE FLEW, and professional criminal profiler evidence that strongly favoured her innocence, what would have been the chances of Schapelle’s conviction in an Australian court? AND ALL MY QUESTIONS BELOW GO RIGHT TO THE HEART OF THAT UNEQUIVOCAL STATEMENT. # Section two, Australia’s police investigation? Question 1 Kev, if (as alleged), Schapelle Corby smuggled marijuana out of Australia, and into Bali, does that mean she’s also guilty of committing a crime in Australia? Does that mean anyone associated with supplying the marijuana to Schapelle (in Australia), would also be guilty of a crime? Would 4.2 kg of marijuana (worth around $40,000 at the time), lead you to believe that the package was linked to organised crime, and/or a professional grower in Australia? Do professional growers, and/or organised crime, routinely smuggle Australian marijuana into Bali, in much the same way that Columbian cartels are known for smuggling cocaine to the West? If the answer to “d” above is “No,” would you care to speculate on the apparent disinterest shown by professional criminals towards smuggling Australian marijuana into Bali? And if you’re really stumped for an answer on that, I guess you could always use your elbow and get Prof Paul Wilson on the blower . . . . (before I do). Question 2 Kev, Immediately before Schapelle’s flight to Bali, she packed her bags at her Father’s house in Tugun, then spent the night at her Mother’s house in Loganlea. In the aftermath of her arrest in Bali, was either house searched by the Australian Federal Police for evidence of drugs, or drug trading? If not, why not? (See page 22 of Tony Wilson’s book Schapelle: The facts, the evidence, the truth) Question 3 Kev, the amount of marijuana that was found in Schapelle’s bag in Bali was worth a five figure sum in Australia. Did the Australian Federal Police ever carry out a formal investigation to discover who supplied this drug to Schapelle? If so, what were the formal outcomes of this investigation? If no investigation was carried out, can you please explain why? If no formal investigation was carried out into HOW Schapelle got the drugs, would you agree there was ALSO no formal investigation into the potential corrupt routes the drugs could have ended up in her luggage e.g. via corrupt security and baggage staff? Why was there no formal investigation of these potentially corrupt routes, given that high ranking AFP officer Mark Standen is now facing charges of corruption, and security chief Alan Conwell was sacked - and BOTH were involved in Operation Mocha at Sydney Airport, at exactly the same terminal and time frame relevant to Schapelle Corby? And when there were also well known reports of corrupt AFP officers using innocent passengers as drug mules? If an AFP investigation into Schapelle Corby had proved she had no connection to drugs, and no connection to a supplier, do you agree that it would have then inevetiably shifted the focus on to these high level corrupt players, e.g. Mark Standen and Alan Conwell? Is it possible that the complete failure of the AFP to do a normal investigation into WHO supplied the drugs to Schapelle into Australia, was designed to stop any investigation into Standen and Conwell, who were later found to be corrupt? Kevin, why did Mick Keelty sack Gerry Fletcher at the behest of Mark Standen? Has this ever been investigated, and if not, why not? Gerry Fletcher ALSO wants this investigated. Did Mick Keelty ever publicly apologise to Gerry Fletcher? If not, why not? Kev, is Gerry Fletcher still answering phones? Question 4 Kev, did the Australian Federal Police ever investigate Schapelle’s financial records, and/or the financial records of her family? If so, what was the result of this investigation? If no investigation was carried out, can you please explain why? Question 5 Kev, given this major news quote from 2008 . . . As the NSW Crime Commission reviews its many investigations involving Standen to ensure their integrity, Victorian police began a similar process. Victorian Chief Commissioner Christine Nixon said her officers were looking back at cases in which Standen may have played a role. http://news.prev01.ninemsn.com.au/national/574632/fallout-spreads-from-cops-drug-charges Can you explain why there has been NO major reinvestigation of Schapelle Corby’s issues, given that Mark Standen was intimately involved in major drug operations at Sydney Airport, at the exact same time, and in the exact same terminal relevant to Schapelle? And it also now appears that the AFP may have corruptly failed to carry out an appropriate investigation into WHO supposedly “Supplied” the drugs to Schapelle, in order to avoid fingering Standen? Question 6 Kev, is this scathing police asessement of Malcolm McCauley true and correct? Question 7 Kev, are these police certificates, issued to Schapelle’s Father, Mother , sister (Mercedes) and brother (Michael), which clearly state none of them have criminal convictions, true and correct? # Section three, Schapelle’s background? Question 1 Kev, is it true that, previous to Schapelle’s trip to Bali, she had worked in a fast food store, and used the money it generated to save for the trip? Is that normal behaviour (e.g. saving money from a fast food job), for someone planning to carry $40,000 worth of Marijuana, to a country where it’s worth about a tenth of that? In answering “a” and “b” above Kev, will the Australian Government being seeking input from Prof. Paul Wilson of Bond University? Question 2 Kev, did Australian criminologist Prof Paul Wilson (from Bond University), testify that Schapelle did not fit the profile of a drug trafficker? And for your information, HERE is his highly respected background. Kev, after checking out Prof Paul Wilson’s background, would you agree that in the field of criminology, he is Australia’s foremost expert and/or within that rank? Question 3 Kev, did Schapelle Corby have any previous criminal convictions in Australia? Question 4 Kev, was Schapelle’s urine and blood tested for drugs at the time of her arrest? Were her urine and blood negative for drugs? Question 5 Kev, was Schapelle a frequent visitor to Bali, or is it true that her last visit to the island was four years earlier? Question 6 Kev, did a Centre Link worker testify to Today/Tonight (Channel 7), that she had seen Schapelle Corby’s medical records, and that they related to drug addiction, and was this same worker later prosecuted for this gross breach of confidentiality (and found guilty)? And did this same Centre Link worker then admit to the Australian Federal Police that she had NEVER seen any medical records relating to Schapelle Corby? Question 7 Kev, around July 2008, did a spokesman for the Australian Federal Police make an official statement, saying that there had been a full investigation into allegations Michael Corby (Schapelle’s Father), was linked to the drug trade, and that these allegations were completely without substance? Question 8 Kev, is it true that Michael Corby (Schapelle’s Father), had no criminal convictions? Question 9 Kev, is there any evidence that any of Schapelle’s Corby’s family have ever been involved in drug dealing, trafficking and/or smuggling? Is it true that there are official police certificates, clearly exonerating any of Schapelle Corby’s family from that type of activity? # Section four, Schapelle’s motive? Question 1 Kev, is it true that at the time Schapelle allegedly smuggled 4.2 kg of marijuana into Bali, that amount would have been worth about $32,000 on the Queensland street? Is it true it would have been worth about a tenth of that on Bali’s streets? Question 2 Kev, has any Australian, other than Schapelle Corby, ever been charged with smuggling as much as 4.2 kg of marijuana (or an even larger amount), into Bali, from Australia? (And I’d also note here that some commentators have said “Taking marijuana to Bali is like taking cocaine to Columbia”). If the answer to “a” above is “No,” then will the Australian Government be seeking professional advice on this strange and unique anomaly from Prof Paul Wilson of Bond University, or would you prefer to leave it to me to get his written opinion? Though there is the risk (of course), that it might be a bit scathing . . . # Section five, Schapelle’s plea of innocence? Question 1 Kev, has Schapelle Corby ever admitted she is guilty as charged? Does pleading “Guilty” within the Indonesian justice system, thus expressing repentance and remorse, normally earn a lesser sentence, and/or remission? Is a plea for clemency now Schapelle’s only legal option in Indonesia? Would Schapelle have to “Admit” guilt to pursue a plea for clemency? In those circumstances, does Schapelle STILL refuse to admit “Guilt”? # Section six, airport security & criminal staff? Question 1 Kev, HERE is an AFP press release about sniffer dogs detecting drugs at an Australian airport. Can you please explain how the 4.2 kg of marijuana allegedly placed by Schapelle in her unlocked, fully-identified and labelled boogie board bag, got past all the sniffer dogs at Brisbane Domestic Airport, Sydney Domestic Airport and Sydney International Airport? Or is it (perhaps), that 4.2 kg of marijuana doesn’t emit a particularly pungent odour? Question 2 Kev, on page 30 of Gold Coast journalist Tony Wilson’s book (“Schapelle: The Facts, The Evidence, The Truth”), he says at the time of the Corby incident “Staff were not checked or searched as they entered or left Sydney Airport.” Is that correct, especially as it appears to be backed up by the Government report I mention and quote in Q. 4 below? Question 3 Kev, is it true that there have been a number of drug related arrests involving baggage handlers at at Brisbane and Sydney airports? Question 4 Kev, would you like to comment on page 44 (point 35), of THIS damning report into Australian airport security titled “An Independent Review of Airport Security & Policing for The Government of Australia - September 2005,” where it describes grossly negligent screening of airport staff, at the time of Schapelle’s arrest? Please also comment on point 44, page 49: “Unmanned, undermanned, or poorly-equipped access points to restricted areas both inside and outside terminals clearly represent weak spots. Abuse, misuse, or false use (including tail- gating) can occur with obsolete or unsophisticated swipe-card systems. A thorough inspection for contraband of the contents of each vehicle entering and leaving the secure area would prove oppressively expensive, and probably so time-consuming that airport functioning would be seriously impaired. Isolated guards at isolated posts sometimes struggle to fix full attention on what come to be mundane and repetitive tasks, and can allow unwarranted liberties to visitors or workers that they have come to know.” Question 5 Kev, did Australian baggage handler Scott Speed testify that airport staff had been sacked for failing drug tests, and for rummaging through passengers luggage, and that it was possible for someone to insert drugs into a bag after check-in? Question 6 Kev, did Australian baggage handler Scott Speed also testify that airport security in Brisbane was so slack, they didn’t even have an x-ray machine for checked in bags? Question 7 Kev, on what date did Australian authorities receive a request from Schapelle’s legal team for the x-ray photos of her luggage? Do you agree that IF there were x-ray photos of Schapelle’s luggage showing 4.2 kg of Marijuana, it would have been highly damaging to her case? How long after receiving this request from Schapelle’s lawyers, did Australian authorities provide an answer? Would you speculate that the completely unacceptable and undue delay in providing an honest answer to Schapelle, on this crucial point, in this extremely high profile case, was major political embarrassment at the lack of x-ray facilities at Brisbane Airport? Though I guess it made life a whole lot easier for the baggage handlers who were raking in thousands in backhanders from the cocaine trade . . . . Question 8 Kev, in May 2005, 7 months after Schapelle and her bags were passing through Sydney airport (on that fateful day), were Qantas baggage handlers found to be smuggling 9.9 kg of cocaine, worth around 15 million dollars, off an international flight from South America? Was it also alleged in a Sydney court that these baggage handlers were paid $300,000 to see that the cocaine was removed before it reached customs? Question 9 Kev, did Sydney MP John Murphy reveal (in April 2006), that two airport security cameras had been sabotaged on 3 occasions, between early October 2004, and May 2005, covering the time when Schapelle Corby made her trip to Bali? Question 10 Kev, were these two sabotaged cameras the only security measure in that particular baggage handling area (e.g. relevant to Schapelle’s luggage)? # Section seven, covering up poor airport security? Question 1 Kev, did John Murphy MP ask official questions about this sabotage (of airport security cameras), in May 2005? Question 2 Kev, did Federal Justice Minister Chris Ellison finally admit the sabotage allegations were true in April 2006, 10 months later? Question 3 Kev, why did it take 10 months for John Murphy MP to get a reply from Chris Ellison? Question 4 Kev, is it correct that John Ellison MP said “If the Government had given me an answer when I first raised this matter and had then been prepared to send a representative and give evidence at Schapelle’s trial, then I believe this poor woman could well have been freed because of the serious doubt this would have raised.”? And did John Ellison MP also say “Those cameras were right where Schapelle’s boogie board bag would have been before it was loaded on to the flight to Denpasar and there has been a monumental injustice with her case that this information has not come out until now. Schapelle might have been out of jail now because of this security breach, with two cameras sabotaged, should have created grave doubts in the Corby case and the Federal Government should have revealed all this during her trial in Bali in 2005”? # Section eight, “Disappearing” CCTV? Question 1 Kev, how many cctv cameras (in total), were in place, in October 2004, in Brisbane Domestic Airport, Sydney Domestic Airport and Sydney International Airport, that were pertinent to the known movements of Schapelle Corby and her luggage, from the time Schapelle Corby and her luggage first entered Brisbane Domestic Airport, to the time her flight departed at Sydney International Airport? Question 2 Kev, how long after Schapelle’s arrest did this international incident become very high profile international news? Question 3 Kev, how long after Schapelle’s arrest was an order made to preserve the footage from every single pertinent cctv camera (see question 1, section 8 above), and make it available to her defence, as a heavily “Pregnant” boogie board bag (9-months gone with just over 4kg of marijuana), is a little hard to miss, wouldn’t you agree? Was an order ever made to preserve this crucial cctv footage? If the answer to “b” above is “No,” can you please explain why? Question 4 Kev, on what date did Schapelle Corby’s legal team request (from the relevant Australian authorities), all the relevant cctv footage (from the cameras I mention in question 1, section 8 above)? Do you agree that cctv shots of a “Pregnant” boogie board bag would have been highly damaging to Schapelle’s case? Do you agree that cctv shots of NON “Pregnant” boogie board bag would have been highly damaging to any corrupt Australian airport staff, and also highly damaging to the reputation of a number of very senior people (given the extremely high profile nature of Schapelle’s arrest)? Do you agree that the total disappearance of all relevant Australian cctv footage relating to Schapelle Corby and her luggage (at three airports), was a huge stroke of good fortune to any criminals, corrupt staff and or incompetent management, that may have been involving in placing 4.2 kg of marijuana in her completely unlocked boogie board bag? Question 5 Kev, was a single frame of Australian cctv film ever made available to Schapelle’s defence team? If the answer to “a” above is “No,” can you please explain why? Question 6 Kev, can you ALSO please explain how there wasn’t a single frame of CCTV footage available from Sydney Airport on the day Schapelle flew (footage that might have cleared Schapelle), given there was a major drugs operation underway there at exactly the same time, which was headed by a corrupt cop, and overseen by a corrupt security manager? And is it usual to turn off all CCTV cameras during a major drugs operation? # Section nine, a “Pregnant” boogie board bag? Question 1 Kev, did senior Qantas baggage handler Scott Speed say the airline had a rule disallowing anything being placed in a boogie board bag, apart from the board itself? Kev, does Qantas airlines still have this rule? Did Qantas baggage handler Scott Speed also say that in 95% of cases, a baggage handler would notice a boogie board bag weighing more than the regulation 3 kg, and would ask the passenger to open it? Question 2 Kev, would just over 4 kg of marijuana in a boogie board bag create a very obvious pregnant “Bump”? Question 3 Kev, after Schapelle’s case had had widespread and high profile media coverage, around November 1st 2004, did Schapelle appeal through her lawyer for the Qantas clerk who had checked her in (in Brisbane), to come forward? Question 4 Kev, did Qantas ever investigate how a very obvious pregnant “Bump” on a boogie board bag escaped their security systems? If not, why not? Question 5 Kev, did two Qantas check-in staff give evidence that they had checked-in Schapelle’s boogie board bag at Brisbane airport, but had not noticed any pregnant “Bump,” or noticed any unusual smell? Question 6 Kev, have you read Schapelle’s book, “Schapelle Corby (with Kathryn Bonella)”? (And here’s a tip from wikipedia Kev, over 100,000 people have) So Kev, do you reckon those 100,000 people (just like me), read through to page 136, and then came across the first set of photos in that book (or if they’re even more like me, flicked through to them first)? Within that set of photos is a picture of a wacking great bag of marijuana, Schapelle writes it was “ . . . almost larger than my boogie board.” Do you reckon 100,000 people noticed that too? So Kev, do you reckon it’s possible 100,000 people are a darn sight smarter than Qantas check-in and security staff, or that Qantas check-in staff are telling the unadorned truth when they absolutely deny ever seeing a “Pregnant” boogie board bag (question 5, section 9 above)? # Section ten, Indonesian incompetence? Question 1 Kev, did Schapelle Corby request (from the Indonesian authorities), cctv footage of her arrival in Bali, including her interaction with custom and police officials at the airport? Was the footage ever supplied to her? If the answer is “No’” can you please explain why? Schapelle vehemently disputed the Indonesian custom officer and police evidence, re their “Version” of events surrounding her arrival. Do you agree cctv footage of this interaction would have shed much light on WHO was telling the truth? Question 2 Kev, did Balinese custom and police officers at Ngurah Rai Airport immediately handle both the outer plastic bag, and the inner one (containing the marijuna), without gloves? Would this have been acceptable at any Australian Airport? Why wouldn’t it have been acceptable at any Australian airport? Question 3 Kev, did Schapelle and her travelling companions, in the immediate aftermath of the arrest, demand that these bags be checked for fingerprints? Question 4 Kev, were Schapelle and her travelling companions told that it was already too late, as too many people had handled them? Question 5 Kev, over the ensuing months, did Schapelle’s legal team make repeated requests for the bags to be fingerprinted. Kev, were any of these repeated requests granted? Would these requests have been granted within the Australian judicial system? Question 6 Kev, did Schapelle’s legal team ask for DNA investigation of the marijuana, to see if any traces of Schapelle were within the sealed plastic bags that held it? Kev, was this request granted? Would this request have been granted within the Australian judicial system? Question 7 Kev, did Schapelle’s legal team ask for the marijuana to be tested for it’s country of origin? Was this request granted? Would this request have been granted within the Australian judicial system? Question 8 Kev, was all the marijuana and the bags containing it burnt by Indonesia before it could undergo any of this testing? If so, would this burning (before forensic investigation), have occurred within the Australian judicial system? Question 9 Kev, in the aftermath of this large “Drug bust,” did Balinese police or customs search any of the OTHER bags carried by Schapelle and/or her travelling companions? If not, why not? Question 10 Kev, did the Indonesian authorities ever formally investigate Schapelle’s ”Network” in Bali, or was she just supposed to stand on a street corner and flog it off herself? If this aspect was never formally investigated by the Indonesian authorities, can you please explain why? Question 11 Kev, was the collective weight of Schapelle’s luggage (upon leaving Brisbane airport), ever compared to the collective weight of her luggage upon arriving in Bali? If not, why not? Do you agree that if the marijuana was planted on Schapelle somewhere in transit, there would have been a 4.2 kg anomaly between the two figures? Did Schapelle’s legal team request these collective weights? Was the request for those collective weights granted? If not, why not? # Section eleven, Mick Keelty, lower than pond life? Question 1 Kev, on the 10th December 2005, The Herald Sun ran a story which alleged Schapelle had been photographed with a drug smuggler before her arrest in Bali. These photographs had been seized by police in the course of their investigations (into this drug smuggler). So Kev, will you now (please), clarify for the entire Australian public that these seized photos were taken in Kerobakan Prison, Bali, AFTER Schapelle’s arrest? Further, can you now please explain (for the benefit of the entire Australian public), how Australian Federal Police Commissioner Mick Keelty said (two days after this article, and in relation to it, on Dec 12th 2005, in a statement to the media), “If any evidence existed about Schapelle Corby there was always a risk it would come to light eventually.” So Kev, can you please explain how Mick Keelty was too dumb to recognise Kerobakan Prison, and also comment re whether or not someone that dumb is fit to be the Federal Police Commissioner? Kev, who was the police source of the article printed by The Herald Sun on Dec 10th 2005, considering it pertained to highly confidential police evidence (e.g. photos seized by police)? Do you concede this highly damaging article appeared in The Herald Sun around the exact same time of Schapelle’s appeal, where her sentence was put back up (again), to 20 years? Do you concede that if any corrupt employees of Qantas Airlines and/or Australian airports (maybe extending to the the most senior levels), HAD been involved in the potential bungling that (perhaps), left 4.2 kg of marijuana in an innocent passengers bag, in one of the most high profile cases of the century, they would all have been breathing a collective sigh of relief at the re-confirmation of Schapelle’s sentence? Question 2 Kev, on the 21st January 2006, The Australian newspaper quoted a police source that claimed Schapelle’s brother James was “Suspected of some involvement in the exportation of cannabis for which his sister has received a 20-year imprisonment sentence.” Do you now concede there was not a shred of evidence linking James to his sister’s case? What, therefore was the basis for those police comments? Who authorised those police comments? Question 3 Kev, on the 30th January 2006, The 7.30 Report (ABC), said the Australian Federal Police “Offered to to forensically test Schapelle Corby’s boogie bag and it’s contents,” but “Her lawyers rejected the offer.” Did the AFP make that claim to The 7.30 Report? So Kev, will you now confirm to the Australian public that this AFP claim was completely untrue? Who in the AFP was the source of that bogus claim? Further, in the light of the above (and considering Schapelle Corby BEGGED for DNA testing of the marijuana, which was denied), please explain to the Australian public how and why Mick Keelty said (to ”The Australian” on the 31st January 2006), “I think the reality was if it was tested, and the tests didn’t come out with what the defence counsel expected, then it may assist the prosecution and not the defence.” Question 4 Kev, did Mick Keelty vigorously deny the existence of domestic airport `drug smuggling during Schapelle’s trial (extensive quotes from Mick Keelty, on pages 278/279 of Schapelle’s book, check them out), at the very same time this exact crime was under investigation by his officers (and had been since 2003), in “Operation Flora”? “The purpose of this operation was to target the transportation of prohibited drugs between cities via the domestic airline system,” a police statement of facts tendered to the courts said AAP, 14 July 2005 . . . And when, on THE VERY SAME DAY that Schapelle flew out of Sydney Airport, THE VERY SAME crew that was responsible for her luggage, smuggled 10 kg of cocaine through customs? Did Qantas Chief Executive Geoff Dixon admit his airline had a complaint a day about things stolen from people’s checked-in luggage? (page 279 of Schapelle’s book), Did Geoff Dixon also say he “Could not rule out any link between the two cases” (e.g. the cocaine smuggling, and the marijuana in Schapelle’s luggage)? Why couldn’t Geoff Dixon rule out a “Link”? The did Australian Federal Police ever investigate this potential “Link”? If so, what was the result of their investigation? If there was no investigation, why? How do Mick Keelty’s claims square with the sworn testimony of Scott Speed (question 5, in section 6 above)? How do Mick Keelty’s claims square with this official report I also refer to in section 6 (question 4), above? Do you acknowledge Federal Police Operations “Berlap” and “Tempest” were also targeting the very same problem Mick Keelty was at huge pains to deny during Schapelle’s trial? And HERE (as well as HERE), is something that might jerk your memory. How do Mick Keelty’s claims and quotes (on pages 278 to 279 of Schapelle’s book), square with The Wheeler Report?
